True versatility means 5 different driving modes – standard. The 2021 PHEV now tears up the highway and glides through the city with its new Sport mode, joining the ranks of S-AWC Eco, Gravel, Snow and Normal. Wherever you're headed, PHEV has a mode for you.
Charge as you drive. Yes, you read that right! Outlander PHEV uses regenerative braking to convert kinetic energy into electricity for the drive battery. In the Outlander PHEV, you can use steering-mounted paddle shifters to adjust coasting levels and control the amount of energy being recycled.

Outlander PHEV's Forward Collision Mitigation system gets your attention with audible and visual alerts and brakes for you if you're about to get into an accident.
The Lane Departure Warning system continually monitors your current lane position and gives you an audible and visual alert if it senses you might be unintentionally drifting.
Automatic High Beam Headlights detect vehicles ahead of you and in oncoming lanes, and keep everyone's eyes fresh by switching between high beam and low beam headlights when other drivers are approaching.
